Hamid Mansaray

Senior Regional Director, West Africa & Haiti

Hamid joined Lutheran World Relief from World Vision, where he had over 22 years of experience in various capacities, most recently as the National Director of World Vision Chad, where he lead a team of 168 national and 6 international staff.

Prior to his service in Chad, Hamid was Interim Director for Mali; West Africa Regional Acquisition and Management Director (overseeing a team of 6 technical specialists in grants acquisition); Deputy Director for Food Security and Livelihoods at World Vision’s Headquarters in Washington (with a global portfolio of $120 million in USG, foundation and WFP-funded development and emergency grants); and Humanitarian Emergency Advisor for West Africa. Prior to that he held various management positions in Zambia, Mauritania, Kosovo, and Sierra Leone.

Hamid was born and educated in Sierra Leone. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English History and International Relations from Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone, a Certificate in Leading Operational Excellence from MIT’s Sloan Business School, and he has completed coursework towards an MBA from the Institut Superieur du Management in Dakar, Senegal.
